Uusi-Yijälä farm berrywine
Tarja Uusipaasto, the hostess of the Uusi-Yijälä farm, completed her vocational qualification as a winemaker at a Horticultural Institute in 2004. She has been making berry wines since 2005. Organically grown blackcurrant, greencurrant and aronia grow on the southern slopes of Patalahti opposite the northern slopes of Himos Ski Center. Finland’s smallest and the only winery in Central Finland strives to produce high-quality products with a high juice content and a long maturation period.
Finnish new berry wine production began after Finland’s accession to the European Union in 1995. According to current legislation, we berry wine farms are allowed to sell fermentation products made from domestic raw materials containing less than 13% every day between 9 am and 9 pm.
