Seppälä Farm
The Seppälä Farm produces high-quality free-range lamb directly for consumers and restaurants. The farm breeds, sells and rents ewes and lambs. There are 170 ewes on the farm and nearly 500 sheep grazing in the fields and forests during the summer. The farm’s rams are Texel rams Pentti, Jarska and Ragnar.
The farm’s operations are centred around management of the agricultural environment and the sheep graze in a forest pasture supported by special aid close to Lake Päijänne. The objective of the special aid for the farm is to preserve and improve the natural and landscape biodiversity of the agricultural environment using various management approaches. Wool shorn from the farm’s sheep is sent to felt goods producer Huopaliike Lahtinen.
The farm also makes firewood and sheepskins from its own resources. The firewood is primarily sent to HimosLomat resorts, with the exception of a few private customers. The firewood is delivered and, if necessary, stacked in a shed.
The product selection at the farm shop includes sheepskins, ground beef, butterfly chops, leg of lamb, roasts, spareribs, lamb neck and mutton for dogs.
Availability depends on the season and demand.
