How to get here by bus

 

Jämsän sydän logoIn the center of Jämsä, there is a bus station located approximately 1.4 km from the train station. The Himos area is about 7 kilometers from Jämsä’s town center. The Himos junction is situated along Highway 9, where several bus routes stop. From this stop, it’s less than a kilometer to Himos Center. Additionally, some bus routes turn to the Säyrylänsalmi Bridge stop, which is just 150 meters from Himos Center. From the Highway 9 stops, you can reach Himos via pedestrian and cycling paths. 

 

To Jyväskylä and Tampere 

Up-to-date schedules for express buses between Jyväskylä and Tampere can be found on Matkahuolto’s website. The familiar red double-decker OnniBus.com buses stop at Shell Jämsä (Kauhkialantie 116) or Jämsä bus station (Välikatu 9). Jämsä – Lahti

Between December 3, 2024, and June 1, 2025, a bus connection will operate between Jämsä and Lahti along Highway 24. The bus connection between Lahti-Jämsä, and Himos operates on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, running between the travel centers of Lahti and Jämsä. In Jämsä, the route starts and ends at Himos.

Railway station -Himos

The bus service between Jämsä railway station (RAS) – Jämsä – Himos (base of the west slopes) runs during Christmas season 2024 and Winter holidays season 2025 according to the schedule below:

Payment by cash or card: Adults €3.50, from 1 January 2025 €3.70. Youth (7–16 years) €2.00, from 1 January 2025 €2.10.
