Churches
The beautiful churches of Himos-Jämsä invite you to come and explore. The area is home to four impressive churches: Jämsä Church, Kuorevesi Church, Koskenpää Church and Jämsänkoski Church. In addition, there is an atmospheric prayer room in Länkipohja.In the summer, Jämsä Church and Kuorevesi Church serve as roadside churches, open for all to visit. You can take a look at Jämsänkoski Church during church services, while advance booking is needed for viewing Koskenpää Church. Bookings can also be made to view the prayer room at Länkipohja. In the nearby region of Petäjävesi there is also Petäjävesi Church, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site. The church is located along the Wanha Witonen canoeing route, and is one of the route’s most well known sights.
Jämsä Church
The Church is a cruciform church designed by architect Kauno S. Kallio, which was inaugurated on September 29, 1929. The church was built on the site of a previous church destroyed in a fire in 1925. In the current church space, the burnt church can be seen e.g. an altarpiece and crucifix as well as smaller artifacts in the church museum.

Kuorevesi Church
Kuorevesi Church is located on a scenic peninsula by the water, about 12 km from the center of Hall. The church is one of Finland’s three sacrificial churches and was completed in 1779. The builder was the renowned church builder Matti Pärnä.

Koskenpää Church
The construction of the church has taken place in small batches during the years 1896-1911. Pastor Heikki Salonius consecrated the church in 1902, but the church was finally completed in 1911. The interior was renovated in 1922 according to the plan of architect Josef Stänbäck. pillar decorations and funnel railings.

Jämsänkoski Church
Jämsänkoski Church is designed by architect Wäinö G. Palmqvist and was completed in 1935 on a property donated by the paperfactory company. The church was consecrated on June 30, 1935. The Jämsänkoski parish separated from the Jämsä parish in 1925 and met before the church was completed in the old Seurahuone of Yhtyneet Paperitehtaat Oy, which was renovated into a temporary church.

Längenmäki church
Längelmäki Church is a Baroque-style wooden church built between 1770 and 1772 under the direction of builder Antti Piimänen. The church is located in the former Längelmäki village of Hakosalmi, which moved to Orivesi with the municipal association. Kirkkotie 565, 35480 Längelmäki
Särkisaari churches
The Island church and the Nature Church, located in connection with the Särkisaari camp center, are atmospheric and suitable for many occasions. Särkisaarentie 365, 42100 Jämsä.
